We are mixed age learning center, serving youth 5 y.o. through 16 y.o. located near Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, CA
Whether you're looking for a primary learning space or simply want to enrich your homeschooling experience, we offer several ways to participate.
3,4,5 days per week
For families seeking a trusted educational partner, our full-time program offers a vibrant, self-directed learning community where children explore their interests, build meaningful friendships, and develop the academic, social, and life skills they need to thrive.
Families continue homeschooling through a PSA or charter school while Luminary serves as their primary learning community.
2 days a week
Designed for homeschooling families who want to add consistent community, friendships, and hands-on learning to their educational journey. Learners enjoy enrichment activities, collaborative projects, field trips, creative workshops, and meaningful social experiences—all while families continue leading academics at home.
6 - weeks class series
Practical, engaging classes designed to help young people thrive in the real world. Each 12-week term, learners choose from a variety of hands-on classes that build confidence and essential life skills—from cooking and financial literacy to public speaking, executive functioning, entrepreneurship, AI literacy, and more.
Flexible Enrollment
A relationship-centered learning option for neurodivergent learners who benefit from a flexible, low-pressure environment. We work alongside families to create individualized support that honors each child's strengths, interests, and pace while fostering communication, executive functioning, confidence, and meaningful friendships within our inclusive community.
